Collection: Immune

The immune system is a complex network of organs, cells, and proteins that defends the body against infection. The immune system keeps a record of every germ it has ever defeated so it can recognize and destroy the microbe quickly if it enters the body again.

The most prevalent threat to healthy immune activity is a lack of balance. Not enough immune activity and we get sick, too much and we may manifest one or more autoimmune conditions where the immune system identifies our own tissues as “enemy”. To counter immune imbalance, we must be diligent about the Five Fundamentals of excellent health: exercise, sleep, diet, relationships, and targeted supplementation.

Resilience is critical for healthy immune activity. Nutritional support for the immune system should include therapeutic mushrooms, adaptogenic herbs, micronutrients such as zinc and vitamins D and A, and omega-3 derived resolving mediators for immune balance and enhanced tissue repair.
